The Lexicon is thrilled to announce its annual FREE Summer Proms on Saturday, 7 September 2024!
From 12:00 noon until 7:00 pm, visitors to the town centre can relax on the giant steps in Bond Square (between M&S and Waitrose) and enjoy a spectacular afternoon of entertainment.
The event will feature an array of talented performers, including a finalist from this year's Britain’s Got Talent Innocent, and a host of different acts. Hosting the event is the amazing Sandy Grigelis, a multi-talented actor, singer/songwriter, and musician who trained at the London School of Musical Theatre. Sandy has performed at high-profile events such as the Monaco Grand Prix for Prince Albert, major festivals, and Wembley Arena.
BSL interpreters will be present this year and will be situated on the front right of the stage as faced by the audience.
There will also be a very special prosecco bar, a speciality sausage van as well as complimentary glitter tattoos between 12noon and 6pm. Don't miss this fantastic day of music and entertainment at The Lexicon's Summer Proms!
Get Gospel Choir 12noon | An exceptional collective of singers, Get Gospel are sought after both individually and as a gospel choir. Their aim is to bring joy wherever and whenever they perform. |
EBOS 12:45pm | EBOS Musical Theatre will be putting their own spin on songs from some of the nation’s top musicals. Featuring songs from their latest production Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. |
Avenue 1.25pm | Avenue are a local harmony acapella group. The group was founded in 2017 with the aim of giving talented singers from all musical backgrounds a chance to sing popular music together. Their repertoire is contemporary, diverse, classic and eclectic, so there’s always something in the mix for everyone. |
The Mustard 2.10pm | The Mustard have a unique massive cinematic sound with a touch of 80s and masses of energy & emotion to go with it. Influencers include Simple Minds, U2 , The Who, One Republic and more. |
This One's For You 3.05pm | This band pays tribute to one of the greatest singer songwriters of all time, Sir Elton John. Three world class vocalists will perform unique renditions of his greatest hits in some outrageously iconic outfits to get everyone dancing and singing along. |
Vocalese Choir 4pm | A friendly community choir open to anyone aged 16 and over, and they're all about singing. Singing for fun, singing for your health, physical and emotional. Make new friends, feel good and stay young! |
Innocent 4.35pm | Britain’s Got Talent finalist Innocent Masuku’s powerful operatic performance is sure to create an emotional response. The operatic tenor, born in South Africa, has received numerous official accolades for his singing and performed in operas across the globe including Porgy and Bess, Rigoletto and The Magic Flute. |
The Country Club 5pm | A local duo, bringing you modern hits with a twist and your classic country tunes! Daisy has rocked the Musical Theatre stage and James has collaborated with chart-topping artists like KT Tunstall and Paloma Faith! Their upbeat songs and energy will get you dancing and singing along to make any occasion unforgettable. |
The Boulevards 5.45pm | Rock & Roll. Done the proper way. In a nutshell, that is The Boulevards - a sensational vintage-styled rock and roll band performing the biggest and best hits from the 1950's and early 60's, without compromise. |
