Entries now open for The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon

Budding athletes interested in running The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon 2022 are being urged to enter now.

The event, which is managed by Everyone Active on behalf of Bracknell Forest Council, will take place on Sunday, 15 May 2022. More than 1,000 runners are expected to attend the community led half marathon which will be marking its 38th year.

The event, celebrating headline sponsor The Lexicon’s fifth birthday, is ideal for beginners wanting to experience their first race or the advanced athlete looking to set a new personal best. The flat route is suited to people of all ages and abilities.

After removing all plastic bottles and cups from last year’s race, the event organisers are now looking to further reduce the environmental impact of the half marathon by introducing new and innovative ways of minimising race waste.

Mark Tennant, Area Contract Manager at Everyone Active said: “The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon has been a great success in the past, and next year’s event is set to be bigger and better, whilst doing all we can to protect the environment.  “We’re delighted to be working alongside Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon again to host such a fantastic event. We’re looking forward to welcoming new and returning athletes of all abilities and we would love to see as many local supporters as possible cheer on our runners across the 13-mile route.”

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon said: “We are delighted to be entering our fifth year of sponsorship for this fabulous community event.  It attracts runners from far and wide plus a huge local contingent. And of course, if you don’t fancy running it yourself you can come and support along the route on the day.”

Cllr John Harrison, Executive Member for Culture, Delivery and Public Protection, said: “This half marathon brings our borough together to enjoy a fantastic community event. I always enjoy seeing our residents coming out to give support and encouragement to the runners along the full route. I look forward to hearing the cheers all the way to the finish line in our fantastic town centre.”
