The Lexicon and Bracknell Forest Council are delighted to announce a bumper Christmas at The Lexicon with footfall up 10% in December when compared to the previous year.
This contrasts with a rather more gloomy picture across the South East (including London), which remained the same as 2022 - source Shoppertrak (Sensormatic Solutions)
More than 20,000 places were booked for main activities The Glow Room and The Light Pool, and almost 80,000 people took time out to walk through the giant bauble on The Avenue.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says:
“We were really pleased with the overall festive feel to the town centre. The lights, live entertainers, market stalls and tree all added to the welcoming environment in the town centre.”
The Lexicon also supported Bracknell Food Bank during the festive period, with visitors and retailers donating more thant 300 advent calendars to local families, £2,000 raised from The Light Pool and the community also donating 70 family tickets to The Glow Room.
Cllr Paul Bidwell, executive member for economic development and regeneration said:
“It’s fantastic to see The Lexicon perform so well. It is especially heartening when compared to the rest of the South East. This success reflects the hard work The Lexicon team has put into to delivering a great shopping and leisure experience. With events that celebrate our community, the town centre remains the heart of Bracknell Forest and I can’t wait to see it go from strength to strength.”
