Santa’s Grotto Returns to the town centre

The Lexicon’s festive season will burst into life at 5:30pm on Friday, November 15 2024 with the switching on of the town centre’s new Christmas lights.

Santa will launch the Christmas celebrations with the Rock Choir, who will sing community-led carols and assist in lighting the spectacular Christmas tree.

Following the tree lighting, Santa will head to his grotto to put the finishing touches on this year's main attraction... The Lexicon Santa’s Grotto!

Opening on November 16 2024, Santa’s Grotto will feature an enchanted elevator to transport visitors to the North Pole. Visitors will be greeted by friendly elves and invited to step inside to magically travel through wintery and festive landscapes, before reaching the door to Santa’s cosy cabin.

Upon entering Santa’s Grotto, children will meet Santa and be handed a special gift by one of his elves to take home as a reminder of their visit.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says:
“We have shaken up our Christmas activity this year, with fantastic new lights and the return to the town centre of Santa’s Grotto.
We believe that a combination of the new festivities and traditional favourites like local entertainers, the festive market, free trail and more, will create a delightful festive ambience for all the family to enjoy.”

As part of the new lights, a magnificent giant shooting star will be placed on The Avenue next to Fenwick, creating the perfect backdrop for that all important festive selfie.

The Lexicon will also be running a ‘snap, tag and share’ competition throughout the festive period.

In addition, all visitors can take part in the free Reindeer Trail, by picking up a trail leaflet and finding the special reindeers hidden across the town centre, to win some fabulous prizes.

The Christmas Market Stalls will also return to the town centre with 13 picturesque wooden huts selling a selection of gifts and delicious food and drinks from Friday, November 15 2024.

With the Christmas tree right next door and the smell of mulled wine and sizzling sausages, it’s sure remain a popular festive spot this Christmas.

Cllr Paul Bidwell, cabinet member for economy and regeneration at Bracknell Forest Council says:
The town centre, decked with lights and the popular Christmas Market stalls will provide a welcoming festive venue for everyone.
There are free activities for visitors to enjoy plus community initiatives, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.”

There will be an array of free entertainment including local bands and singers to entertain while you shop on the weekends and during late night shopping on Thursday, December 19, Friday, December 20 and Monday, December 23.

Shoppers will also be treated to complimentary mulled wine and mince pies on those evenings, and customers who spend £30 or more will receive free parking.
