Merry & Bright at The Lexicon this Christmas
The Lexicon kicks off its festive season from around 11:45am on Saturday, November 25, 2023, with the tree and town centre lights being turned on and the launch of all its Christmas activities.
Throughout the afternoon, shoppers will be entertained by a host of different performers, from a roaming Oompah Band to the Glitter Belle Stilt Walkers, traditional Christmas tunes from The Christmas Crackers to crooner British Bublé. And back by popular demand is The Rock Choir, sure to get toes tapping and face painting.
Star of the show this year is The Lexicon Glow Room, a magical winter forest light experience for all the family.
Visitors will walk along an interactive snowy forest trail before entering the Glow Room, with 20,000 dazzling LEDs helping to create a unique light and sound show. Each light performance runs for 20 minutes, so plenty of time for visitors to achieve that Christmas glow.
Princess Square will also host The Lexicon Light Pool, a huge ball pit with a sparkling difference. A sea of more than 20,000 balls will seem to come alive with twinkles and shimmers, creating a mesmerising spectacle of light and colour. Entry to The Lexicon’s Light Pool is free of charge but we hope that visitors choose to give a donation to Bracknell Food Bank.
Visitors will also discover a spectacular giant Christmas bauble on The Avenue, creating the perfect backdrop for that all important festive image.
There’s a Twinkle Trail for families to follow around the town centre, with twelve spectacular bauble designs created by local primary school children. Visitors can win prizes by completing the trail leaflet.
On Sundays, there will be an extra treat for our younger visitors, to meet some of their favourite TV characters. On December 3, Bluey will be in town, on December 10, Chase from Paw Patrol and on December 17, Hey Duggee.
Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says:
“We believe that our Merry & Bright Christmas activities will add a huge dose of festive cheer for all visitors to The Lexicon. There’s something for everyone and of course our lights and tree will ensure that all shoppers get into the Christmas spirit.”
The Christmas Market Stalls will also return to the town centre with picturesque wooden huts selling a selection of gifts and delicious food and drinks from Thursday, November 16, 2023.
With the 10 metre Christmas tree right next door and the smell of mulled wine and sizzling sausages, it’s sure to be a popular festive spot this Christmas.
There will be an array of entertainment including local bands and singers to entertain while you shop at the weekends and Thursdays in December.
