The Lexicon is gearing-up to welcome back shoppers in line with the Government announcement to allow a wider range of retailers to re-open their doors.

While the town centre hasn’t been closed completely during the COVID 19 restrictions, with food, pharmacy and other essential services remaining open, it is expected that more people will visit the town centre from June 15 2020.

Prior to this date, The Lexicon will use a "fogging" treatment, in key areas around the town centre, which releases a fine mist of sanitising solution to destroy any viruses, harmful bacteria or mould.

In addition, to an enhanced cleaning programme, The Lexicon will also be installing wall mounted sanitising stations throughout the town centre, social distancing cues and where necessary one-way systems in more confined areas such as Princess Square and The Avenue car park welcome halls.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says: “We are really looking forward to reopening The Lexicon and have been planning extensively to ensure that shoppers feel safe when they return to the town centre. Increased emphasis on deep cleaning and sanitation will be in place together with appropriate reminders regarding social distancing to help make it as safe an experience as possible.

“We are working closely with retailers, which will also have individual safety measures in place. Please be patient as stores will be limiting the numbers of customers allowed into the store and there may be some queuing before you are able to enter.  We are encouraging visitors to shop alone, but understand that this isn’t always possible and would ask parents to keep children close by and within the same two metre zone.”

Initially, The Lexicon will open from Monday – Saturday, 9am – 6pm and Sunday, 11am – 5pm but visitors should also check opening hours with individual retailers.

Town centre facilities such as toilets, and the Changing Places facility will also be open during these hours, with social distancing measures and increased cleaning being carried out.

All car parks will be open, with visitors asked to park with space around them where possible and to be conscious of others while getting in and out of cars.

All lifts will also be operating but limited to people from one household at a time, in line with current Government instructions.

Please respect the safety of fellow visitors, retail workers and The Lexicon staff by keeping a two metre distance and using the hand sanitiser available and do not visit the town centre if you are feeling unwell.

It is anticipated that not all retailers will open on June 15 2020. For further information about opening times and operating practice please visit https://www.thelexiconbracknell.com/
