Spring into Colour with The Lexicon

SPRING INTO COLOUR WITH THE LEXICON

The Lexicon has teamed up with garden and nature specialists Little Muddy Boots to bring a splash of colour to everyone’s outdoor spaces this Spring.

The campaign kicks-off with the team visiting ten local care homes over the next few weeks, for some practical sessions and advise on how to create colourful displays using bright fruit, vegetables and fabulous blooms.

During May half term a pop-up garden will be created in Union Square where the team from Little Muddy Boots will be on hand to advise on planting, hand out free seeds and there will also be a chance to sample some locally grown fruit.

There will also be bookable practical workshops where visitors can get crafty and decorate their own pot, sow some seeds and learn more about creating their own colour garden.

Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says:
“The colours of Spring can really brighten-up everyone’s days. It doesn’t matter what outdoor space you have, or how old you are, it is easy to create your own vibrant spot.”

The pop-up garden and workshops will run from Saturday, 4 May to Sunday, 1 June 2025 (excluding Monday, 26 May 2025), between the hours of 11am and 4pm.

Hannah Brewer, founder at Little Muddy Boots says:
“Gardening is so important for our physical and mental well-being and we're looking forward to supporting our local care homes and wider community in bringing vibrant colours into their spaces.

Also during half term, there will be a Sunny Strawberry Trail for all visitors to enjoy, depicting fun strawberry characters hidden around the town centre, with prizes worth £100 to be won.

On Bank Holiday Monday, May 26 2025, although the pop-up garden will be closed, face painters will be in Union Square with flower designs to delight young visitors.

After the event, the pop up garden will carry on its journey as The Lexicon donates the space to three local care homes to continue the colour legacy.

A huge thanks to Crown Decorating for providing the paint, Hall Hunter Partnership for some delicious fruit, Freely Fruity for fruit and volunteers to help in the pop-up garden and Shorts for the compost.
