The Lexicon is delighted to be supporting The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal 2020, which helps support the Armed Forces community both past and present.
From Saturday, October 31 2020 to Wednesday, November 5 2020, representatives from The Royal British Legion will be collecting for the appeal on the High Street adjacent to McDonalds.
Gaynor Dingley, Community Fundraiser at The Royal British Legion says:
“The Legion’s work is more vital than ever, as the Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the Armed Forces community, leaving some in dire need of urgent help and support. The money raised in 2020 will enable the Legion to continue its vital work delivering life-long support to Service and ex-Service personnel and their families through hardships, injuries and bereavements. The Legion uses donations in many ways including providing crisis grants, sport and art based recovery programmes, specialist dementia care, and advising and supporting with benefits and money issues. Every poppy counts, and we are urging the local community to support us as never before during these exceptionally challenging times.”
To commemorate those who have and to show support for those currently serving, The Lexicon has installed a Poppy Display on Braccan Walk North, opposite Office. Donations can be made by visiting https://www.britishlegion.org
