Celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee at The Lexicon

The Lexicon will be regally resplendent in red, white, and blue during The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June.

Braccan Walk will be adorned with bunting and the steps in Bond Square will also proudly display the emblem for this historic event.

To start the celebratory weekend, The Lexicon, supported by Bracknell Forest Council, will be hosting a special version of The Lexicon Proms in Bond Square on Wednesday 1 June 2022.

Hosted by BBC Radio Berkshire presenter Bridgitte Tetteh, The Lexicon Jubilee Proms aims to bring the community together with a rousing mix of live music, dance performances and much more.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says: “We’re delighted to be able to mark The Queen’s 70-years of service, with a range of community activities.  We believe that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to get together at The Lexicon to both celebrate and reflect on this historic occasion.”

The Lexicon will be supporting The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Trail, an interactive geogaming story-telling trail for families to follow around the town centre, which will commence May 2, 2022.

Along the trail, visitors will not only discover cute characters, but also get to see them burst to life in augmented reality.

And, families can capture this special moment in time at the Queen’s Jubilee Selfie Station located on Braccan Walk North opposite Skechers, opening from May 20 2022.

The Lexicon and Bracknell Forest Council will also be taking part in the Platinum Jubilee Beacon, which will be lit in Union Square in the evening of Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Bracknell Forest Council is looking for people to share their own encounters and memories about HRH The Queen to become a lasting video celebration, which will be available for everyone to view in Princess Square from Wednesday 1 June 2022.

On Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May 2022, between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm a video crew will be in Princess Square, ready to record visitors’ royal recollections.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration at Bracknell Forest Council says: “With the Borough’s close proximity to the Royal Family, so many of us have stories and memories to share. The Joyful Jubilee Studio is a fabulous community led tribute to HRH The Queen.   The celebrations will run across the borough, more details to follow. This really is a chance for communities to get together and celebrate this joyous event.”
